Many organizations use ArchiMate for the analysis and visualization of their enterprise architecture. ArchiMate is The Open Group standard for modeling and analyzing enterprise architecture. The essence of ArchiMate is a graphical design language that enables consistent modeling of business and IT architectures.
To ensure that ArchiMate is fully understood and consistently applied within your organization, training is of great importance. The success rate of your enterprise architecture effort is dramatically increased when the use of ArchiMate is correctly and efficiently addressed within your organization.
ArchiMate® 2.0 certification and Architect Foundation training
On January 31st, The Open Group officially launched ArchiMate 2.0: the newest version of the open standard for architecture and modeling.
New in ArchiMate 2.0 ArchiMate 2.0 links up with TOGAF even better. This simplifies applying a fully integrated Enterprise Architecture approach within your organization. Besides the core concepts (indicated as ‘ArchiMate Core’) that model company, application and infrastructure layers of Enterprise Architecture, the language is expanded with two extensions:
• Motivation Extension, to optimally model stakeholders, motivation for change, business goals, principles and wishes; • Implementation & Migration Extension, which fully supports project and portfolio management, shortcomings analysis, transition and migration planning.
Certification Courses Now with ArchiMate 2.0, it is also possible to get certified. BiZZdesign has been accredited by The Open Group to conduct certification courses for ArchiMate 2.0.
We offer the following training courses for ArchiMate 2.0 and Architect Foundation: • ArchiMate 2.0 Introduction (1 day) • ArchiMate 2.0 Introduction & Architect Foundation (2 days), consisting of: - ArchiMate 2.0 Introduction (1 day) - Architect Foundation (1 day) • ArchiMate 2.0 with certification & Architect Foundation (3 days), consisting of: - ArchiMate 2.0 Introduction (1 day) - Architect Foundation (1 day) - ArchiMate 2.0 extensions & certification (1 day) • ArchiMate 2.0 (update &) certification (2 days) consisting of: - ArchiMate 2.0 Introduction (1 day) - ArchiMate 2.0 extensions & certification (1 day)

ArchiMate 2.0® Introduction
Introduction Enterprise Architecture is comprised of a consistent set of principles, methods and models for designing and realizing processes, information services, technical infrastructure and organizational design. Companies have different architectural domains, such as company architecture, process architecture, application architecture, information architecture and technology architecture. The ArchiMate language, an open standard of The Open Group, integrates the different domains with an architecture language and visualization techniques. ArchiMate provides the architect with uniform tools to support and improve the architecture process. These tools aid the architect in communicating with others involved, like managers and software developers.
What does this training course teach you? • Knowledge of the background and structure of ArchiMate • Knowledge of and proficiency in the core concepts of the ArchiMate language for modeling and describing architectures • Knowledge of and proficiency in the ArchiMate language and techniques for visualizing architectures Content • Enterprise Architecture definition and goals • Motive for ArchiMate development • ArchiMate language structure • The meta model of ArchiMate’s core concepts • Company architecture concepts • Application architecture concepts • Technology architecture concepts • Connectivity of Architecture domains • Modeling with ArchiMate • Viewpoints and views • Architecture visualization • ArchiMate tool support
Who should apply? This training course has been developed for people that would like to get a general sense of the possibilities with ArchiMate, or who want to start working with ArchiMate. These people would include: business, enterprise and IT architects, IT managers, consultants and project managers.
Our Approach We teach the basics of ArchiMate through presentations, exercises and assignments.
Prerequisites None
Duration 1 day Other This training course is often combined with the Foundation Architecture training course and the ArchiMate 2.0 extensions & certification. At the end of the last module you can take the ArchiMate 2.0 exam. Passing this exam will give you an internationally recognized certificate by The Open Group. The training course is often combined with the TOGAF Foundation level 1 training course as well.
Literature Applicants will be provided with the ArchiMate 2.0 specifications book.
Architect Foundation
Introduction Using a solid and flexible tool offers a lot of added value to implementing Enterprise Architecture in organizations and increases the acceptance of architecture and architects. Implementing such a tool, especially within aspects such as quality, uniformity, consistency, management and speed, will be a major improvement for the organization and the architect. Enterprise Architecture tools are focused on determining architectures and visualizing and analyzing the coherency between architecture domains and services, impact-of-change analyses, etc. BiZZdesign Architect is a commonly used tool for determining, visualizing and analyzing Enterprise Architecture. Architect utilizes the ArchiMate® modeling language.
What does this training course teach you? Upon completion of this training course you will have the knowledge and skills to use BiZZdesign Architect and model, visualize and analyze Enterprise Architecture.
Content • Modeling in BiZZdesign Architect • Viewpoints and views in Architect • Visualizing enterprise-architecture in Architect • Analyzing enterprise-architecture in Architect • Documenting enterprise-architecture in Architect • Publishing from Architect
Who should apply? This training course has been designed for people who want to start working with BiZZdesign Architect. This includes business, enterprise and IT architects, IT managers, consultants and project managers.
Our approach We teach proficiency with the BiZZdesign Architect tool through presentations, exercises and assignments.
Prerequisites Knowledge of ArchiMate’s core concepts and connections (e.g. by following module Introduction ArchiMate 2.0).
Duration 1 day
Other This training course is often combined with the ArchiMate 2.0 Introduction training course (prerequisite) and can also be taken together with the ArchiMate 2.0 extensions & certification training course. At the end of the last module you can take the ArchiMate 2.0 exam. Passing this exam will give you an internationally recognized certificate by The Open Group. The training course is also frequently combined with the TOGAF Foundation level 1 training course.
ArchiMate® 2.0 extensions & certification
Introduction ArchiMate’s core concepts can model the different architecture domains in a coherent manner. In version 2.0, the ArchiMate language is expanded with an extension that contains concepts to determine the motivation behind the architecture (stakeholders, goals, principles, requirements) and an extension with concepts that support the implementation of the architecture and the migration to a new situation. Both extensions contain additional viewpoints as well.
What does this training course teach you? • Knowledge of the two ArchiMate extensions and their connection to core concepts • Knowledge of the viewpoints for the extensions • Sufficient prior knowledge to take the ArchiMate 2.0 exam (the exam requires some additional home study time aside from the actual training course)
Content • The structure of ArchiMate’s Motivation extension and the connection to the core concepts • The structure of ArchiMate’s Implementation and Migration extension and the connection to the core concepts and the Motivation extension • Concepts, connections and viewpoints of the Implementation and Migration extension • Concepts and viewpoints of the Implementation and Migration extension • Ways to expand ArchiMate or to specialize • ArchiMate’s relationship with other architecture frameworks • Exam for ArchiMate certification
Who should apply? This training course has been designed for people that would like to use ArchiMate 2.0 standard version in its entirety and/or want to take the ArchiMate 2.0 certification exam.
Exam and certificate During this training course, you will take the ArchiMate 2.0 multiple-choice exam at the end of the training. There is a practical modeling assignment that is part of the exam. If you pass the exam you will receive an internationally recognized certificate by The Open Group. Prior to this day, you will need to put in between 5 to 10 hours of home study to prepare for the exam by reading the ArchiMate 2.0 specifications book, which will be handed out in the Introduction ArchiMate 2.0 training course.
Our approach The ArchiMate 2.0 extensions and additional topics that are needed to pass the ArchiMate 2.0 certification exam will be taught through presentations, exercises and assignments.
